School is DONE. So nice! Now it's time to pack up my things and leave my life in Kelowna behind. I am determined to not leave the awesome friends I have made here behind though :) I can't wait to photograph with each of you again.

As a sort of celebration 4 of us gals headed out to my family's cabin on Shuswap Lake for the night last night. Thank you ladies for coming and celebrating with me. Happy Birthday today Tessa!!

We all brought our cameras - after a year like this how COULD we leave them behind? So here is a quick shot of our awesome breakfast this morning! Pancakes with strawberries, bacon, hashbrowns and celebratory Mimosa's! mmm enjoy! I did :)

This weeks school assignment was based on the category of fine art. What is fine art really? I think that anything could be considered fine art in a way! The particulars for the assignment was "something you would hang on your wall". This particular photo isn't what I handed in - but it I still enjoy it and it is closer to my usual style than the two I did hand in. Maybe I will post those later! This spool reminds me of my childhood - first a playhouse made out of a spool similar to this (except for much larger) and then after our move to Dawson we seemed to have oodles of these around the yard! Mom used them as "outside coffee tables" etc. I think she might have finally snuck them all into the burn pile by now though!!

I really enjoy night photography and I am excited to do more of it. This was an architectural assignment for school, and we were asked to capture the buildings where our school is located. For anyone that is interested I have spent a big part of this year in the lower levels of the building on the left :)

Absolute Photography: Beautiful Morning - Grande Prairie Photography

I woke up this morning to a text from GP "All sorts of crazy fog today". This week is the A2Z challenge for the letter "F" so I was immediately wishing I was at home. Then an hour later I peek out my own curtains and it IS foggy here! Out the door I run without even combing my hair and off to take pictures of fog. I drove out to where I took my last great fog pictures and unfortunately that was about the only NOT foggy place around. So I drove around some more but nothing foggy was really striking my fancy so I headed towards home. On the way I forced myself to stop and take at least SOME photo's and here are my two favorites.

This first one is a place I am sure everyone with a camera has stopped at - but ever since the first time I saw it I knew I would be taking photos of it more than once this year. I am sure all the footprints in the muck are from photographers! The ice today was melting and so the pond was gurgling and gulping and groaning. I think the blue sky is fantastic though!


I have no idea what this plant even is but they were growing in the ditch with the cat-tails. I think they are super neat looking!

I picked this little guy up in an antique store in Armstrong, BC last summer while driving between Kelowna and our cabin in the Shuswap. I would love a collection of old cameras to put on the shelf at home!

A is for...

Aqua icing! It was going to be "A is for Angelfood" but that turned into a big mistake. There is a reason that they sell angelfood cake cheap enough that you don't need to make it at home!

PS. This icing is very YUMMY.
